The attorney of V. Stiviano, the woman heard in the tapes that contain racist remarks attributed to Clippers owner Donald Sterling, released a statement on Sunday that calls the rant “legitimate” and claims that Stiviano did not release any recordings to the news media.

“This office understands that the currently released audio tape of approximately 15 minutes is a portion of approximately one (1) hour of overall audio recording of Mr. Donald T. Sterling and Ms. Stiviano, and is in fact legitimate,” said attorney Mac E. Nehoray in the statement. “Ms. Stiviano did not release the tape(s) to any news media. An earlier statement, issued Saturday by the Clippers, maintained that Sterling was not the one in the audio.
