Uniting to Stop Workplace Age Discrimination


Hi Movement Makers! Have you had negative comments made about your age, no matter how old you are, either in your past or current job? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve experienced this not only in the corporate world, but also in entrepreneurial ventures I’m pursing.

I used to think maybe everyone that’s telling me I’m too young to be chasing after certain goals and dreams are right. Now I’ve reached a point in my life where I don’t let these age-related comments stop me from going after what I want to do.

How do you know if you could be facing age discrimination? Some signs include:

  • Age-related comments such as “you’re way too young” or “old man”
  • Favoritism towards a specific age group – for example, employees under the age of 30 will be invited to a team event and not “older” employees
