As discussed earlier, the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) is causing a major divide between the moderates and the progressives within the Democratic Party. Barack Obama, the de facto leader of the moderate faction and Elizabeth Warren, the voice of the progressives, recently exchanged words that highlight the discrepancy between the two sides.
In an interview with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, Obama took the following position when asked about Elizabeth Warren’s opposition to the TPP:
“I love Elizabeth. We’re allies on a whole host of issues, but she’s wrong on this.”
